Recovery Algorithm

The Picture Recovery Software works on a simple 3-step recovery process.

Scan

Picture recovery software prompts the user to select a target drive (such as a hard drive, external storage device, flash drive, or digital camera) on which the scan should be conducted. Once the drive is selected, searching algorithms enable the software to look for recoverable pictures and media on the drive. As items are recovered, they're populated as File Type, Tree View, and Deleted List on the left side panel of the software window.

Preview

This premium product gives you more benefits than any other free picture recovery software. It lets you preview each item before performing the actual recovery so that you can be assured whether recovery is possible for the files you wish to restore or not. Once the scanning of the target drive completes, you can select any item from the found files list and preview it before saving.

Recover

Once you're satisfied with the preview, select the images, media, or folders that you wish to recover. Select a desired location to save the files and initiate the recovery. The software facilitates recovery from various camera, all brands/sizes/types of memory cards, SD cards, hard drives or any type of removable storage media like USB flash drive, memory sticks, SDXC, SDHC etc. It also facilitates recovery in case data loss arises from storage media corruption, errors, malicious/virus attack etc.

Easy Recovery Process

Download, install and launch Stellar Photo Recovery. Once the main screen of the software appears, follow the below steps.

Select the drive or storage media to scan and recover from.
Click on 'Scan Now' to start the scanning process

Note: Choose to customize the recovery process through Advanced Settings icon on top. Select a specific file type, add new file type or edit Header to scan for exact results.

Click Scan.
A dialog box of 'Scanning Completed Successfully!' appears. In the left-pane of main window, all the found files and folders are listed. The bottom-right pane lists the files stored in the selected folder. Select a file and preview in the right pane.

Note: If the required photos, videos or audio files are not in the list, opt for Deep Scan at the bottom.

Click Recover.

Note: Recover only the selective media files — Select the desired files and choose Recover.

In the dialog box, specify the location to save the media files.
Click Save.

Create Image

Create an image of the entire or the select range of the hard drive and save it to recover photos, videos and audio files at a later stage. This option is useful if media has developed bad sectors. Follow the below steps to Create Image of the drive:

Click on Resume Recovery icon at the top in the main interface.
Select Create Image option.
Select the drive for which you want to create image.
Click Advanced Settings.
Select the Range to Create Image.
Specify a location for saving the image file.
Click Start Imaging.
Next, recover the media files from this disk image through Resume Recovery.

Resume Recovery

You can also choose to stop scanning process and save the scan information at any stage or Create Image of the drive. Later, this saved information can be loaded into the software window to resume the recovery process. To perform this operation follow the below steps:

Click on Resume Recovery icon under Advanced Settings on the home screen.
Click Resume scan. A Resume Recovery box opens. All saved scans information or an image file will be listed.
Select the scan information file for which you want to resume the recovery process and click Add.
Click Resume Recovery to start the recovery process.
In the dialog box, specify the location to save the media files.
Click Save.
